The Occupational English Test (OET) opens a new test venue in Sri Lanka with ACBT Kandy
OET, the English language test for healthcare professionals, will be available at a new venue in Sri Lanka from July. The new Kandy test venue will be managed by the Australian College of Business and Technology (ACBT) Kandy.
OET (the Occupational English Test) is an Australian-developed English language test that assesses the language proficiency of healthcare professionals. It provides assessment of all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – through test material designed to reflect real healthcare scenarios.
Indika Abeysooriyaarachchi, General Manager of ACBT Kandy, said: ACBT Kandy is pleased to launch its OET test venue to facilitate candidates from Central, North Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces of Sri Lanka, who would otherwise have to travel to ACBT Colombo to take the test. Having been in operation for over 10 years in Kandy, ACBT Kandy centre is well equipped with both physical amenities and skilled staff to administer the OET examination.
The new Sri Lankan test venue is OET’s 130th venue and the second in Sri Lanka. OET CEO Sujata Stead said that there had been a recent upsurge in candidates in Sri Lanka wishing to take the test, and that the new venue would help to meet demans. “We have had a long association with ACBT in Sri Lanka and know that they will provide our candidates with the positive and secure test experience for which OET is known world-wide,” she added.
