The Occupational English Test (OET) opens a new test venue in Hong Kong with Hong Kong Polytechnic University
OET, the English language test for healthcare professionals, will be available at a new venue in Hong Kong from July 2019. The new Hong Kong test venue will be managed by the Centre for Professional and Business English.
OET (the Occupational English Test) is an Australian-developed English language test that assesses the language proficiency of healthcare professionals. It provides assessment of all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – through test material designed to reflect real healthcare scenarios.
Richard McGeough, Programme Director at the Centre for Professional and Business English, said: “We’re thrilled to be offering OET to health professionals in Hong Kong and beyond. OET fits our core mission to enable professionals to communicate effectively in English in their specific field.”
“Health professionals will soon also be able to complete a preparation programme before sitting OET”, he added. “The Centre for Professional and Business English at PolyU will be Hong Kong’s only ‘one-stop shop’ where candidates can both prepare for and sit the OET.”
OET CEO, Sujata Stead, said she was delighted to be welcoming a new venue – Hong Kong’s second – in this part of the world. “Candidates have been asking us for some time to open a new venue in Hong Kong to increase capacity and the Centre for Professional and Business English is the ideal partner for our business. We look forward working with them,” she added.
