The Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) has announced its decision to accept the Occupational English Test (OET) as an approved English test. The Council carries responsibilities in the areas of standards, conduct and competence. All doctors wanting to practise medicine in New Zealand must first register with the MCNZ. The Council will accept an A or B in each of the four sub-tests – Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Candidates who have achieved the required grade in OET in the last two years can apply to the MCNZ for registration.
