OET opens new test venue in Hamilton, New Zealand

OET, the English language test for healthcare professionals, will be available at a new test venue in Hamilton, New Zealand from April 2017. The new test venue will be managed by Wintec.

Jo Thomas, Director of Wintec’s Centre for Language says: “The test offered by OET at Wintec is focussed on the language skills healthcare professionals need to be successful in their roles. It’s a highly developed test which is recognised by Boards and Councils for professional registration, and by Immigration New Zealand for all visa categories”.

“By offering this test at Wintec, we are enabling healthcare professionals locally and nationally, as well as our international students to demonstrate their proficiency in English and assist them in gaining employment,” she concludes.

OET opens new test venue in Melbourne

A new OET Test Venue has opened in Melbourne, to give a wider choice to candidates taking the English language test for healthcare professionals.

OET testing will commence at Greenwich English College, Melbourne in May 2017.

Redhill Education General Manager, Victoria, says: “Greenwich English College in Sydney has been an OET test venue since 2014 and we are excited to now extend our test venue experience to test candidates at our new campus in the Melbourne CBD from May 2017.”

OET now available at first test venue in Thailand

OET, the English language test for healthcare professionals, will be available in Thailand for the first time from March 2017.

The new OET Test Venue will be managed by the AUA Language Centre, Bangkok.

AUA Director of Courses, Michael Kelley said: “As a former U.S.-Thailand bi-national center, AUA Language Center remains steeped in a mission to improve the quality of life for all Thais through English language education, contributing to a higher quality healthcare sector by partnering with CBLA and promoting the OET standard will go a long way to that end”.

OET, the English language test for healthcare professionals, will be available in Bangladesh for the first time from February 2017.

The new OET Test Venue will be managed by the FutureEd English Language Centre in Dhaka.

Managing Director of FutureEd, Mr. Ameer Yousuf Khan said: “We are privileged to become the first test venue for OET in Bangladesh. With extensive experience in international English tests, we are looking forward to assisting healthcare professionals by administering OET at FutureEd”.

Gunnar, Orthopaedic Surgeon, An OET Success Story

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Gunnar, took OET at a venue in Germany in order to move to Australia to work. He said: “OET is basically the first stepping stone you have to take, you have to prove your level of English to the Australian Medical Board.  The venue was well prepared..and the staff were very friendly there, I felt welcome and relaxed, it was a good atmosphere to do the test”.
