IMG OET Process | Booking, preparation and results
Step 1
Book Your Test
OET offers candidates choice, convenience and confidence, with three different delivery modes:
- OET on paper at test venues
- OET on computer at test venues
- [email protected] (select candidates only)
Note: OET on computer and [email protected] are currently on pause, and will resume later this year.
Step 2
Prepare for OET
You will receive a series of emails full of official OET resources. Each email will cover a different aspect of the test. Emails also include our masterclasses, guides and videos.
You can also find a wide range of preparation material in the OET Preparation Portal.
Advice for Native English Speakers
Preparation for OET is key, even for those with a high level of English proficiency. OET is not a multiple-choice test and the test tasks are demanding.
An extensive array of preparation materials is available to all candidates and our education team regularly emphasises the importance of all test-takers being familiar with both the test construct and the assessment criteria. We advise that you prepare thoroughly before attempting OET.
Step 3
Test Day
You will sit OET on your test date, completing each of the four sub-tests. OET abides by testing protocols that work to safeguard health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Step 4
Receive your results
Appproximately 14 business days after sitting the test, OET will send you an email asking you to login to myOET to view your results. You will receive a letter grade and a numerical score for each sub-test.
Step 5
Give ECFMG access to your results
Give ECFMG access to your results through the myOET platform. Log in, click “manage verifier” for each sub-test and search for and select ECFMG.
